We sure love when a couple tells us they’re planning a destination Adirondacks wedding, and Kerri & Chris had us at “Hi, we’re from Long Island!”
After speaking with Kerri there was no doubt it was a match! I knew we were a fit for their event right off the bat!
They were interested in having The Bar Car at the event and it truly was the perfect addition, just what they were looking for, something a little different! Their crowd loved it! It was a focal point of their cocktail hour.
The weather was just amazing, everyone was outside, enjoying the sun and surrounding The Bar Car which was set in the field with the beautiful mountains in the background and the rustic elegance of the Burlap & Beams Barn in the foreground.
We developed a menu that was perfect for them.
Of course, we had to have steamed clams — I mean they are from long Island! All of you Long Islanders know what I’m talking about, no respectable Long Islander goes to any type of event without steamed clams.
Shrimp cocktail also made the team, as did so many of our favorite homemade appetizers! The chipotle pulled pork sliders with our homemade pickled slaw was a huge hit! You knew they were on the way to the crowd when you heard groups of people saying, “Here comes the Slider Girl!!”
The day was a hit from the start, the passed appetizers were plentiful, Kerri and Chris really knew their crowd. They loved us (or maybe it was the food). But, either way, they were a happy group.
The event moved flawlessly into the main tent where their first two courses, our traditional house salad with homemade balsamic vinaigrette and famous homemade croutons. We followed that up with a delicious Pasta Alla Vodka.
Their guests enjoyed these two courses while their crowd was entertained with a few spectacular speeches! The laughter under the tent was infectious. The food, the laughter, the sentimental speeches, were a highlight of the day!
Dinner was met with equal excitement as we served their main meal family style.
Of course, we couldn’t serve this group anything less than a delicious Grilled Filet Mignon! As well as Chicken Piccata, Cajun Shrimp Skewers, Tricolored Roasted potatoes and delicious Grilled Asparagus.
All round, it was perfect, if we do say so ourselves!
The desserts were a very important part of their menu as well (Kerri if you're reading this, I know you must be thankful that I put a stop to the over indulgence!). They choose a scaled-down cake and added cookies, brownie bites, donuts and cupcakes.
She wanted more, but I had to put my foot down and just say, NO MORE! THAT’S ENOUGH!
This was such a memorable day for us and all of my crew, we really connected with the couple and their guests, I am always so thankful when these special couples find us.
I hope you enjoy the gallery, the photos came out so great we were proud to see them enjoyed by so many after being picked up for publication in Rustic Wedding Chic!
Remember, it is really so important when shopping around for your wedding vendors to take the time to really make those special connections, it brings a real element of comfort to the event. Not only for us as vendors asked to join in on such an amazing day, but to the couple as well. Making sure you are confident in the service you will be receiving is priceless.
